According to information received, sanitation workers had gathered outside the municipal headquarters to protest against pending payments and employment-related issues when the shocking incident took place. A bus allegedly ran over the leg of a 42-year-old woman sanitation worker, leaving her critically injured.
The victim suffered severe bleeding injuries to her leg and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Following the incident, angry sanitation workers expressed strong outrage, creating a tense atmosphere near the municipal premises. Protesters demanded strict action against those responsible and raised concerns over the safety of workers during demonstrations.
Meanwhile, Bhayandar West Police Station has taken custody of the bus bearing registration number MH04LY6990 along with the driver for questioning. Police officials confirmed that further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
