Tension Continues in Mira Road; VHP and Bajrang Dal Recite Hanuman Chalisa Outside Poonam Estate
Tension remains high in Mira Road’s Poonam Estate Cluster-1 after a dispute over goats brought ahead of Bakri Eid. VHP and Bajrang Dal workers gathered outside the complex and recited Hanuman Chalisa amid heavy police deployment.
Tension continued in the Poonam Estate Cluster-1 complex in Mira Road following a dispute over goats allegedly brought into the society premises ahead of Bakri Eid. The situation in the area has remained sensitive since clashes and heated arguments erupted between two groups on Monday.
Late at night, another incident added to the tense atmosphere when an unidentified person allegedly attacked a youth with a blade during the commotion. The injured youth received medical treatment, and a complaint has been registered at Kashimira Police Station. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
On Tuesday morning, workers of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal gathered outside the Poonam Estate Cluster-1 complex and recited the Hanuman Chalisa. Sloganeering was also reported during the gathering.
To prevent any untoward incident, Kashimira Police deployed heavy security in and around the area. Police officials stated that the situation is under control and are closely monitoring developments.
The police administration has appealed to citizens not to believe rumours and to maintain peace and harmony in the area.
