Mayor Dimple Mehta Conducts Pre-Monsoon Inspection of Major Drains Across Mira-Bhayandar
Mira-Bhayandar Mayor Dimple Mehta conducted an early morning inspection of 12 major drains across the city to review pre-monsoon desilting work. Civic officials were directed to remove obstructions immediately and complete all drain-cleaning work within eight days.
In preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, Mayor *Dimple Mehta* conducted an inspection of key drainage channels across Mira-Bhayandar on Saturday morning to assess the progress of pre-monsoon desilting and cleaning work.
The inspection began at around 7 a.m. from the Radhaswami Satsang Nala in Bhayandar West. The Mayor was accompanied by Deputy Mayor *Dhruvkishor Patil, Standing Committee Chairman **Hasmukh Gehlot*, civic officials, sanitation inspectors, and other municipal representatives.
The inspection followed a meeting held at the Municipal Corporation on Friday, during which Mayor Mehta had announced a special field visit to review monsoon preparedness.
During the tour, the Mayor inspected a total of 12 major drains, including those at Radhaswami Satsang Nala, DB Reality, Railway Parallel Nala, Jaffri Creek, Penkar Pada, Bappa Sitaram Nala, Laxmi Baug, Meenakshi Nagar Nala, Sai Palace Hotel area, JP Infra, Tata Power House, SN College, and other critical drainage points.
Interacting with local residents, sanitation inspectors, and civic officials, the Mayor reviewed concerns regarding water flow and drainage blockages. She directed the concerned departments to immediately remove all obstacles affecting water discharge and ensure smooth flow before the onset of heavy rains.
Mayor Mehta also stated that a follow-up inspection would be conducted next week to verify whether the instructions issued during the visit have been implemented effectively.
During the inspection, municipal officials and sanitation teams were warned that all pending drain-cleaning work must be completed within the next eight days to ensure the city is fully prepared for the monsoon season.
