Traffic Police Direct Speedy Completion of Surya Water Pipeline Work Amid Kashimira Congestion
Traffic Police Inspector Praful Wagh inspected the ongoing Surya Regional Water Supply Project work near Kashimira and directed contractors to complete the pipeline installation within the stipulated timeframe. Measures have been implemented to reduce traffic congestion and ensure public safety.
Traffic authorities have instructed contractors to expedite work on the *Surya Regional Water Supply Project*, which has been causing significant traffic congestion near Kashimira due to ongoing pipeline installation work along the National Highway.
As part of the project aimed at meeting the city's future water requirements, a *1,300-mm diameter water pipeline* is being laid between Hotel Nilkamal and Delhi Darbar on the National Highway. The construction activity beneath the bridge has led to frequent traffic bottlenecks, prompting intervention by the traffic police.
On Friday, *Praful Wagh*, Inspector of Kashimira Traffic Police Station, visited the project site and reviewed the progress of the work. He directed the contractor to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe and ensure that traffic disruptions are kept to a minimum.
The work had been temporarily halted a few days ago by the Traffic Police Department due to concerns related to traffic management and public safety. Taking serious note of the issue, Mayor *Dimple Mehta* conducted a joint inspection of the area along with officials. During the visit, safety arrangements, traffic control measures, and public protection initiatives were reviewed in accordance with recommendations from the traffic police.
Following the inspection, the contractor was instructed to strictly comply with safety norms and immediately resume the pending pipeline work. The project has since restarted, and efforts are underway to complete it within the planned schedule.
Officials emphasized that the *Surya Regional Water Supply Project* is a long-term and critical infrastructure initiative for Mira-Bhayandar, designed to strengthen the city's water supply system and ensure a sustainable and reliable source of drinking water for residents.
According to traffic police officials, several measures have been implemented to reduce congestion around the construction zone. Traffic wardens have been deployed at the site, reflectors have been installed to alert motorists about ongoing work during nighttime hours, and heavy vehicles have been restricted from making U-turns beneath the bridge. Authorities are also considering diverting heavy vehicles through alternate routes to ease traffic flow and facilitate faster completion of the project.
