Stalled Surya Water Pipeline Work Resumes After Joint Inspection in Mira-Bhayandar
The stalled pipeline-laying work under the Surya Regional Water Supply Project has resumed after a joint inspection by Mayor Dimple Mehta and officials. The project is expected to strengthen the long-term water supply infrastructure of Mira-Bhayandar.
Mira-Bhayandar:*The long-pending pipeline installation work under the *Surya Regional Water Supply Project* has resumed following a joint inspection by civic and traffic authorities in Mira-Bhayandar.
The project involves laying a *1,300-mm diameter water pipeline* along the National Highway stretch between Hotel Nilkamal and Delhi Darbar. The work had been temporarily suspended for the past five to six days by the Traffic Police Department due to safety concerns and the need for additional traffic management measures.
Taking serious note of the delay, Mayor *Dimple Mehta* conducted a joint inspection of the project site. During the visit, officials reviewed the safety arrangements, traffic control measures, and other precautions required to ensure public safety while construction activities continue.
Following the inspection, the Mayor directed the contractor to strictly adhere to all safety norms and immediately restart the pipeline installation work. In compliance with these directions, the stalled work has now resumed, and efforts are being made to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
Officials stated that the *Surya Regional Water Supply Project* is one of the most important long-term infrastructure initiatives for Mira-Bhayandar. Once completed, the project is expected to enhance the city's water supply network and provide residents with a more reliable, sustainable, and efficient drinking water system.
The inspection was attended by *Sharad Nanegaonkar, Executive Engineer of the Water Supply Department, **Uttam Randive, Deputy Engineer, **Dnyaneshwar Jagtap*, representatives of the project management consultancy, and the concerned contractor.
