Under the Lad Committee recommendations, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation distributed medical and character verification letters to 41 eligible heirs of retired, voluntary retired, and deceased sanitation workers for recruitment into municipal service.

In a major relief for families of sanitation workers, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation on May 18, 2026 distributed official letters regarding medical examination and character verification to eligible heirs of retired, voluntarily retired, and deceased sanitation workers under the recommendations of the Lad Committee.

Following completion of the required procedures, a total of 41 eligible candidates will be appointed to various posts in the municipal corporation.

As per the approved recruitment process, 9 candidates will be appointed to the post of peon, while 32 candidates will be recruited as sanitation workers. Appointment orders will be issued after the candidates submit mandatory medical fitness certificates and character verification documents to the establishment department.

The letters were distributed at the hands of Mayor Dimple Vinod Mehta, Municipal Commissioner Radhabinod A. Sharma, and Standing Committee Chairman Hasmukh Gehlot.

Speaking during the event, Mayor Dimple Mehta congratulated the newly selected candidates and urged them to serve citizens with honesty, dedication, and responsibility throughout their tenure. She also appealed to the recruits to contribute positively towards the functioning of the municipal corporation and fulfil public expectations efficiently.

The program was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sachin Bangar, City Secretary Dinesh Kanagude, Assistant Commissioner Sunil Yadav, along with several municipal officers and staff members.

Municipal officials stated that the decision would help provide financial stability and security to the families concerned, especially those who lost earning members working in the sanitation department.

Employees and beneficiaries present at the event expressed gratitude towards the Mayor, Commissioner, Standing Committee Chairman, and the municipal administration for taking the initiative.
