Meritorious Student to Teach Marathi to Hindi-Speaking Auto Drivers in Mira-Bhayandar Initiative

A unique initiative aimed at promoting the Marathi language among Hindi-speaking auto-rickshaw drivers will be launched in Mira-Bhayandar under the guidance of Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

The program will be conducted through Sapna Kumari Shambhu Sah, a meritorious student from a municipal school in Mira-Bhayandar who, despite being a Hindi-speaking student, secured the first rank in the Class 10 Marathi-medium board examinations.

The initiative, titled “Marathi Lessons for Hindi-Speaking Auto Drivers,” aims to encourage better communication and cultural integration in the city by helping auto-rickshaw drivers learn basic Marathi.

The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening, May 14, 2026, at the public relations office of Transport Minister Pratap Indirabai Baburao Sarnaik.

Officials believe the initiative will inspire greater acceptance and use of Marathi in daily interactions while also recognizing the achievements of talented students from municipal schools.
