The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has accelerated its pre-monsoon preparations, with drain cleaning operations being carried out across the city to prevent waterlogging during the upcoming rainy season. Civic officials stated that the drive will continue until the onset of the monsoon.
The administration is taking special measures to ensure that rainwater does not accumulate in low-lying areas and that the city remains prepared for heavy rainfall.
As part of the monsoon preparedness plan, a review meeting was also held with the Health Department to discuss preventive measures against seasonal diseases such as dengue and malaria. Officials reviewed strategies aimed at minimizing the risk of outbreaks during the monsoon months.
The Health Department will conduct anti-larval and mosquito-control spraying at vulnerable locations across the city. In addition, ASHA workers will visit households to create awareness among residents about preventive measures against dengue and malaria and provide necessary guidance.
The civic body has also ensured the availability of essential medicines and medical support to address any health-related emergencies during the monsoon season.
According to the administration, all departments are working in coordination to prevent waterlogging and reduce the spread of diseases, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents throughout the monsoon period.
