119 Road Accidents in Five Months in Mira-Bhayandar; Traffic Police Intensify Safety Measures at Black Spots
Mira-Bhayandar recorded 119 road accidents in the last five months, resulting in 22 deaths and 107 injuries. To curb accidents, Kashimira Traffic Police have implemented several safety measures at identified black spots across the city.
A total of 119 road accidents have been reported in Mira-Bhayandar over the last five months, claiming 22 lives and leaving 107 people injured, according to information provided by the Kashimira Traffic Police.
In an effort to reduce accidents and improve road safety, the traffic department has undertaken several preventive measures across accident-prone locations in the city.
Authorities have identified five major black spots along the stretch from Fountain Hotel to Dahisar Check Naka and up to Golden Nest Circle. These include Pali near Delhi Darbar Hotel, Ghodbunder Ghat, Kaju Pada, Pleasant Park Junction, and Mira Gaothan.
To enhance road safety at these locations, traffic police have installed warning and guidance signboards highlighting speed limits, accident-prone zones, sharp turns, and directional information. These signs have been strategically placed to ensure visibility for motorists.
Additionally, lane markings, rumble strips, cat's eyes, and crash barriers have been installed to improve traffic discipline and reduce the risk of accidents.
For pedestrian safety, a foot overbridge has been opened at Piyush Pani, enabling residents to cross the road safely and reducing the likelihood of accidents involving pedestrians.
Traffic officials also stated that the flyover construction work near Delhi Darbar is currently underway. Once completed, the flyover is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and reduce the number of accidents at the location.
The traffic police have appealed to motorists to follow traffic rules, adhere to speed limits, and drive responsibly to help further reduce accidents in the city.
