According to police officials, the deceased child was living with his parents beneath the Kashimira flyover. On Sunday night, the boy went missing, prompting his parents to search for him in the surrounding area. Despite their efforts, the child could not be located.
On Monday morning, police received information about the body of a young child found in a drain located behind a petrol pump near Neelkamal Naka. Police immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation.
The body was later identified as the missing four-year-old boy. Authorities have registered an accidental death case and are probing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The unfortunate incident has once again raised concerns over public safety and the dangers posed by open drains in urban areas.
