On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation organized a tree plantation drive at Reservation No. 220 in Indralok, Bhayandar. Municipal Commissioner Radhabinod A. Sharma inaugurated the program by planting a sapling and emphasized the importance of nurturing and preserving planted trees for long-term environmental sustainability.

Marking World Environment Day, the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) organized a tree plantation drive at Reservation No. 220 in Indralok, Bhayandar. The initiative was inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner Radhavinod A. Sharma (IAS), who planted a sapling to formally commence the program.

Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Sharma emphasized that merely planting trees is not enough; their proper care, protection, and conservation are equally important. He highlighted that preserving and expanding urban green spaces has become a necessity in the face of rapid urbanization, climate change, and growing environmental challenges.

He further stated that environmental conservation requires collective efforts from both the administration and citizens. Encouraging public participation, he urged residents to actively contribute to tree plantation and the long-term maintenance of green cover across the city.

The event was attended by Additional Commissioner Dr. Sambhaji Panpatte, Deputy Commissioner Kavita Borkar, Executive Engineer Nitin Mukane, Information and Public Relations Officer Raj Gharat, Garden Superintendent Nagesh Veerkar, along with several municipal officers and staff members.

The civic body's initiative is expected to create greater awareness about environmental protection and inspire citizens to participate in tree plantation and conservation activities for a greener and more sustainable future.
