Naya Nagar Police Bust Sex Racket in Mira Road; Woman Agent Arrested, Three Girls Rescue
Naya Nagar Police in Mira Road arrested a woman agent allegedly involved in supplying girls from orchestra bars for prostitution. Three victims were rescued during the anti-trafficking operation conducted under MBVV Police.
In a major crackdown on illegal flesh trade activities, the Naya Nagar Police of Mira Road East arrested a woman agent allegedly involved in supplying girls working in Mumbai orchestra bars to customers for prostitution. During the operation, police also rescued three victimized girls from the alleged sex racket.
According to police sources, the action was carried out after Zone-1 DCP of MBVV Police Commissionerate, Rahul Chavan (IPS), received secret information regarding the illegal activities being operated near Deepak Hospital on Mira-Bhayandar Road under the jurisdiction of Naya Nagar Police Station.
Based on the tip-off, Senior Police Inspector Amar Jagdale and the Naya Nagar Police team deployed a decoy customer and conducted a raid near Payade Hotel opposite Deepak Hospital. During the operation, police detained a woman agent and rescued three girls allegedly being forced into prostitution.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested woman allegedly used photographs of girls working in orchestra bars and dance clubs in Mumbai to attract customers and was reportedly operating the illegal network across Mumbai, Vasai-Virar, and Mira-Bhayandar for the past two years.
Police are now investigating the involvement of other associates and partners connected to the racket, along with identifying the lodges and hotels where girls were allegedly sent for prostitution activities.
Officials are also probing how many women may have been pushed into the illegal trade and the extent of the customer network linked to the accused.
A case has been registered against the arrested woman under Section 143(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 4 and 5 of the PITA Act. Legal procedures are currently underway to shift the rescued victims to a women’s rehabilitation home.
The anti-trafficking operation was conducted under the guidance of senior MBVV Police officials and Zone-1 DCP Rahul Chavan (IPS), with the joint efforts of Senior PI Amar Jagdale, API Sudhir Thorat, PSI Samadhan Kengar, Akhtar Sheikh, HC Yogesh Ghughe, Mahesh Khanmagal, HC Abhijeet Thakur, and the Naya Nagar Police team.
