Demand Raised for Immediate Launch of Independent “Gratuity Assistance & Guidance Cell” for Contract Workers

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Union has demanded the immediate establishment of an independent “Gratuity Assistance & Guidance Cell” for contract workers employed under the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. A formal letter regarding the demand has been submitted to the Additional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of the civic body.
According to the union, contract workers who continuously serve the city in areas such as public health, sanitation, and security are facing serious financial injustice regarding gratuity and related benefits. The proposed assistance cell would help workers receive proper guidance and support concerning their gratuity rights and other employment-related issues.
The union stated that the administration should take the matter seriously and initiate immediate action. It also warned that if the demand is not fulfilled, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Union will launch a strong democratic agitation in support of the workers’ rights.
