Main Accused in Ghaziabad Student Murder Case Killed in Police Encounter
The main accused in the murder of a Class 11 student in Ghaziabad was killed in a police encounter after allegedly opening fire on a police team during an operation to apprehend him.
The main accused in the murder of a 17-year-old Class 11 student in Ghaziabad was killed in a police encounter late Saturday night, according to police officials.
The accused, identified as Asad, was allegedly involved in the murder of student . Police said the incident had triggered widespread anger among local residents, who had been demanding strict action against those responsible.
According to officials, police teams were conducting a search operation to arrest the accused when he was traced in the Masuri area of Ghaziabad. During the operation, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police team. In retaliatory action, police fired back, leaving him seriously injured.
Asad was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.
Police stated that one of the accused's associates managed to escape and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him. Authorities have launched a search operation in the area.
The murder reportedly stemmed from an altercation after the victim objected to being called out on the occasion of Bakrid. Following the incident, police registered a case against five individuals. The father of the deceased student had earlier demanded the arrest of all those involved.
Senior police officials have assured that further investigation into the case is ongoing and strict action will be taken against all accused persons connected to the crime.
